Morning, or at least hopefully it still will be by the time this reaches you! Ready for the weekend? I certainly am after a great weekend with our year 6's last weekend, and a trip to Lytham with our class 5.
School news; well I think it’s all great. Lesson drop ins by me and the Governors, meetings with the governors, John Bradley continuing his amazing work as a work questioning and interviewing the kids on a whole range of topics, and an audit by the schools advisors last week found us to be in tip top shape and thriving - thriving mentally, educationally and spiritually. Compliments aplomb, yet complacency slayed as we analysed the school against the ever changing political OFSTED landscape. OFSTED, bless them, are currently sticking with their mantra of a deep dive! When they visit us, probably this next year, they will, if they stick to the same script they’re currently on, perform a “deep dive” unto 5 or 6 subjects! So, the subject leaders for the foundation subjects, whilst having always been on top of their game, now will be busy finding evidence to prove that they are on top of their game. To be fair, the curriculum at St George’s always has been broad, exciting, plentiful, and we certainly don’t teach to the test, but it would be foolish not to test our curriculum against OFSTEDs new framework which we will be once again doing this year.
Just look at what we do: Focus weeks, RE weeks, 2 residentials, class trips, pantomimes, all the sports, all the music, church links, sleep over in school. I’m proud of our curriculum. An incredibly stimulating and inclusive curriculum that helps children to become determined and confident, knowing that God is with them.
