School is a wonderful place to be this week. The children are busy, learning, vibrant and engaged with their education. Our kids here have always loved coming to school but extended periods of closure have made everyone, myself included, appreciate each and every second together. As the world begins to welcome back some traditions that have been so sorely missed, we cautiously try a few new things at a time. The children and staff alike have found joining together in song on the MUGA absolutely incredible. I'm delighted to share some experiences of the last week.
In Reception, our youngest children have been looking after caterpillars and watching them form their cocoons. On Friday and over the weekend 3 emerged from the chrysalises as butterflies; named Ben, Light Wings and Abi (names drawn from a hat). Today we watched as they took flight in search of flowers...
Again, Reception really enjoyed their visit from Leo the lamb today! They asked lots of questions and learnt so many new things about lambs. A massive thanks the Freer family. This is a prime example of home and school working wonderfully together.
Please note that this year, the children will not be being photographed in their colour teams. Instead, can the children please wear their ordinary school uniform for this. Thank you!
Louise Darlington has been excitedly booking new activities for the Bibby's Farm Year 6 Residential. If not already, could parents of Year 6 children please ensure that the balance is paid via Scopay as soon as possible.
A reminder to Junior children to book their dinners online- the system is up and running and working well!
A reminder also to keep up to date with breakfast and late-stay payments.
On Friday last week Class 7 captured some images of their session of Tri-Golf in PE. The children loved the session and got so much from a fresh challenge, taking on a discipline usually reserved for the older generations! What do you think of Max's form everyone? I'm well impressed!
Get into the Swing of Spring
On Thursday 20th May, Leanne and the wonderful kitchen team welcome all children to join us for a special Spring themed meal. The menu for the day is attached. Infants who normally have a school meal need not do anything... Junior children, please book through Scopay! I'll be joining in with this...
