A Church School
St George's is a church school, and we are proud of this. We have great links with our church, local churches and the Diocese.
Our vision statement is firmly linked to modern day Britain, and to the Bible. It is our aim that every child, and indeed adult in the school is "Determined and confident, knowing that God is with us, as we learn, care and share, through work play and prayer."
St George's is a Beacon within the local community, leading families through the COVID pandemic, providing support for the vulnerable and excitement for all. We are a school of unity, whatever your belief, ability or circumstance not only will you be made welcome at St George's, you will fit in.
We are a keen green school. During lock down 2 we erected our greenhouse, made out of recycled bottles - a great community project that shed light over Chorley during times of darkness. We have our own vegetable store, where we give out school grown vegetables to the community, and local food banks, we host a bee hive, whereby one of our year 4 pupils asked to use the honeycomb, to make a cross for the soap that we make.
Kids at the school are great young people, with great futures ahead of them. We prepare children for their future, not our past, and because of our culture and determination children do start secondary education determined, and confident, knowing that God is with them.
Below you will find examples of our work at St George's. You will also find our RE action plan for academic year 2020 2021.
