A superb end, to what, despite its imperfections, has been a perfect term. Well done everyone, and my thanks to you all.

Our half termly bend stretch and breath always goes down well.... Year 5 greatly enjoyed their yoga yesterday as they bent, stretched and breathed their way to better health and well-being.

Year 5 were invited to a special Picture News assembly today for Black History Month. We learned all about the life of the amazing Swarzy, a BBC radio and TV presenter. We celebrated diversity and learned about treating others with respect. We learned a lot about Guyana’s and Mauritian culture too. Above all, we learned that we each have our own fantastic story to tell and that it is ours to tell. Very inspiring!

A very exciting day in Y6! This morning we started our new English unit where we will be studying the poem “Dulce Et Decorum Est Pro Patria Mori”. The children then had the wonderful opportunity to participate in an online assembly celebrating Black History month. & then to finish off our wonderful day, the children completed a number of experiments with light rounding off our science topic for this half term!

We've all seen how incredible both the boys' and girls' football teams have been on the pitch lately. I couldn't be more proud of not only your efforts, but more importantly, your *attitude*. It's easy to get caught up in the wins and the scores, but what really matters is how you carry yourself—on and off the pitch. You've shown teamwork, respect, and resilience, and that will take you far beyond football. Remember, your mindset is your greatest asset.

It's important that we watch the way we speak to ourselves. If you ever catch yourself thinking, "I’m not good enough," twist it around to something more helpful: "I’m still learning, and that's OK." Negative thoughts can hold us back, but you can choose to focus on the positive. Instead of "I failed," try thinking, "I’m getting closer to figuring this out." It's not just about being good at football; it’s about being good at life—about encouraging yourselves and each other.

As the Bible says in Proverbs 23:7, *"For as he thinks in his heart, so is he."* What you believe and say to yourself shapes who you are and who you’ll become. Keep believing in your abilities, and keep supporting each other—because that’s what makes you truly great.
