Whats on at Georges and All Saints
Dear All,
I would like to inform you all about a memorial service that we are holding on Saturday the 30th of November at 4pm in All Saints’ Church, Moor Road. The service is for any who have recently lost a loved one, and we are reaching out especially to those known to us within the Parish of St. George's and All Saints', or those who have had a funeral with a member of our clergy in the last 12 months.
We understand that as Christmas approaches this can be a difficult time of year for those who are grieving and we hope that you may find it helpful to join us as we remember, and reflect upon, those we miss most.
Choral evensong is a beautiful, traditional service of prayer. Many people find comfort in the beautiful music and biblical themes in these services. The memorial evensong will be led by myself, Rev. Jordan, the St. George’s choirmaster, Gordon Blackledge, and the St. George’s choir.
All are welcome to come and take part in the service, at which we hope to pray for your loved ones by name. There also will also be the opportunity to write your loved one’s name on a star and have this star put onto our Christmas memorial tree, for which we recommend a donation of £5 as this will help to cover the cost of the service, if you would like more information please do get in contact.
We care about supporting all those in our community who are mourning and we consider it a privilege to be able to be with people at every stage of life. If there are other ways that we can be there for you, such as by arranging a visit from a member of our pastoral team, or by inviting you to our other events, please let us know or ask us after the memorial service, for which refreshments will be provided.
May God bless you with his comfort and peace,
Rev. Jordan (Curate in the Parish of St George’s and All Saints’, Chorley)
Friends,
It is always lovely to gather together as family, and especially nice to welcome Fr Thomas’ family as he came to preach.
