Safeguarding of children
Our uttermost concern is the safeguarding of all children in our care. I hope that you find the policies, found by clicking here, useful in explaining our stance on child protection.
Also on this page are some referral forms that can be used to raise a suspected child protection issue with the head teacher. These forms can be filled in and given to the Head teacher. These forms cannot be accepted by anonymous receipt.
Of course, common sense suggests that if you have any issue related to child protection you should contact the head of the school immediately, or if the concern is an emergency the police should be contacted using 999.
All schools in Lancashire participate in a project, called Operation Encompass, which is run in partnership with Lancashire Police.
The project, which commenced in April 2019, aims to help schools to support children who are affected by domestic abuse.
Following a domestic abuse incident attended by Lancashire Police, at which children from our school were present, they will notify us early the next morning and prior to the start of the school day. This enables us to offer support or whatever is needed to any child arriving at school.
We have 2 members of staff who are trained to liaise with the police, when required, whilst ensuring support is available to the child.
We are committed to providing the best possible care and support for all our pupils.
If you would like to speak to someone further about the project or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact Sharon in the office.
