Thanks everyone - a great week in school. Slightly more subdued atmospheric atmosphere this week; we will, and we should remember them x
Year 6 had a great start to their new science unit yesterday - living things & their habitats. They looked at classifying different animals and then went and had a practise using a classification key to see if they could identify different species of woodlice. We managed to find the common Pygmy woodlouse, the common shiny woodlouse and the common striped woodlouse! Well done year 6
Class 4 are busy boat building for our Titanic day! Everyone looks amazing!!
Class 7 and 8
A gentle reminder that the children need to bring their ukulele to school every Thursday. An increasing number of children are forgetting them each week despite being reminded at hometime on Wednesday. Ukulele lessons are for the whole academic year.
Thanks
Class 7 received their first penpal letters from a school in America! This is a connection Class 7 started last year and we are very pleased to continue with it. The children loved reading about their new penpal, looking at the pictures they drew and what they look like. The children have been asked questions and we will reply back before Christmas.
Lest We Forget.
Class 5 are learning all about Remembrance Day in our history topic this half term. They will learn all about who we remember and the importance of remembering what our Soldiers have achieved and done for our country. The children have been asked to bring in photos and memorabilia from their own families who have a connection to the First or Second World Wars.
Please spend a moment to reflect and share thanks to our Class 5’s families by viewing our ’Window of Remembrance’ in the infant yard.
The children have made wreaths and are writing Prayers to the soldiers, which we will take to the cenotaph in Astley Park next week.
